ER4043 Welding Wire
ER4043 welding wire is an aluminum-silicon alloy welding wire with 5% silicon content, also known as S311. 4043 aluminum welding wire has good fluidity at welding temperatures and the weld metal has excellent resistance to hot cracking. However, it has lower plasticity and toughness, and the color of the weld metal after anodizing treatment is darker, appearing gray. When used to weld 5000 series aluminum-magnesium alloys, it is prone to the formation of brittle Mg2Si compounds, which reduces the plasticity and corrosion resistance of the joint. Therefore, er4043 aluminum welding wire is generally not used for welding aluminum-magnesium alloys. Aluminum-silicon welding wire has good crack resistance but poor plasticity, so it should be avoided for joints that require post-weld plastic deformation.
When using ER4043 welding wire to weld 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, the tensile strength of the joint can reach over 167MPa. Mechanical properties of the deposited metal - Using er4043 aluminum welding wire to weld 6061-T6 aluminum alloy:
Approximate melting range: 573~632℃
Tensile strength of the joint: over 167MPa
Color after anodizing: gray
Used as a filler material for argon arc welding and gas welding of aluminum alloys and castings other than aluminum-magnesium alloys. ER4043 mig wire is commonly used for welding 6XXX series aluminum alloys such as 6061, 3XXX series and 2XXX series aluminum alloys, as well as cast aluminum. Widely used in ships, locomotives, chemical industry, food, sports equipment, molds, furniture, containers, and containers.
